HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WRITING:
1. In your own words, compose a fiction short story, or tell an entertaining true story from your personal experience. The funnier, scarier, odder, more emotional, the better. Good shorts have snappers. If your tale is true, make certain that you have permission from any persons named in the story, or any copyrighted or patented items. We request that your work be suitable for General Audiences, that is, no profanity, erotica, or extreme violence.
Note: This must be your own work to which you own the complete rights.
3. We will review and notify you by email whether your submission is accepted by our editors.
4. If accepted, payment will be $1.00 (USD) per 1000 words, by Pay Pal, or check. (Minimum payment $10 USD)
5. If accepted, please submit a short bio.
6. If using a pen name, we will need your true identity for our file. (Otherwise, how can we pay you?)
7. You will retain ownership of your work. We only request permission to publish same in this collectiion.
8. We will keep you informed of progress and future opportunities.

| SHORT STORIES DESCRIPTION;
Short & Fun Stories, Vol 2 Amusing Modern Short Stories is the second volume of a continuing series. Successful writers, and wannabees are cordially invited to submit an amusing story, essay, poem or article for this volume. Ideally, 1K to 5K is good, two stories are fine with a combined maximum 10,000 words, (although we can make exceptions.) It can be entirely original, or it can be an excerpt from your existing novel (so long as you are the owner. We require that you are the sole owner, therefore able to grant printing privileges.) If it is an excerpt, it should be a complete story, or interesting scene and not just a "teaser."
Kindly let us know of your intentions as soon as possible, with a deadline of August 1, 2017 for final submissions.
We do not ask for exclusive rights. You retain ownership of your work and can reprint it anywhere. All we require is the permission to print in this volume, both as a print book and as an ebook.
We will place the print book in our retail outlets, and place the ebook for sale on Amazon.com and Smashwords.com. Both, will be available on this website, MercerPublications.com.
In addition to the stipend, you will receive valuable publicity. We can include a short blurb about you and your existing novel(s) with one or two links of your choice. ((Note; the Smashwords edition cannot have references to Amazon and so we will eidt those out of that edition.) Also, we will provide you with discount codes which you can use for promos and giveaways.
Optional: You may submit one picture to go with your bio and link, which will appear in the ebook in color, and will be printed in black & white. This can be a pic of you, or your book cover.
